Sustainable Policies
We employ conscientious practices at every event, but for those looking for a little extra “green”, be sure to ask your Event Coordinator about how we can custom-tailor your event!
Vibrant Table Catering & Events is committed to developing and following sustainable business practices to the utmost of our abilities. Our engaged Green Team consistently assesses products, services and procedures to provide responsible solutions to the unique challenges posed by the event industry. In recognition of our achievements, the Portland Office of Sustainable Development awarded Vibrant Table with the RecycleWorks Award in April 2008. We expect to make even more significant gains in the area of sustainability as cost-effective “green” products and services develop a greater role in the market, but we are proud of our achievements thus far and remain dedicated to expanding our green practices as we continue to grow.
Our current sustainable practices include:
- Composting food scraps NEW!
- Preference is given to local & sustainable agricultural food products.
- Reusable china, glassware, flatware, and linens are as sustainable as it can get! When required, our disposable products are compostable and biodegradable.
- Our menus are designed to reduce food waste and we donate leftover food to local relief organizations.
- Proposals, billing and other administrative functions are performed electronically to reduce paper waste.
- We recycle event & office waste.
- Promotional materials and office documents are printed on recycled-content paper.
- We compost organic debris from our Floral Department.
- Rechargeable batteries are used in décor items.
